Great Plug for Martial Arts Industry

Could Lead Parents to Make Incorrect Studio Choice

Master Gary A. Schill, Peak Performance Martial Arts

Let’s face it all Martial Arts Schools are NOT the same. If fact, there are only a handful that I would consider Professional. Most Martial Arts Schools are run by hobbyists, who love Martial Arts, but they know nothing about developing children, adults, and families.

The Kung Fu Panda movie is great for our industry, but it is giving potential parents the wrong impression about the industry. They see the movie and they are believing that all studios are the same.

Their perception of a Professional Martial Arts School is nowhere near the reality. Why? Mainly, because they do not know the difference. Truthfully, most instructors do not know the difference.

Parents need to be informed as to what they need to look for in a school. The first piece of advice I am going to leave with you is “The Style Makes No Difference”. Now my colleagues are having a fit right about now, but if they were, to be honest, they would say the same thing.

The important things are the studio appearance, the instructor core and their experience in teaching not how many championships we have won. There needs to be a tested and proven curriculum and there are many other factors associated with a professional school that can only be experienced at once.
